Chilling, ready to fix your roof.

Serving Ocean & Monmouth County, New Jersey

I find leaks forensically. Patterns lead me to the problem. I understand roofs and where mistakes might have been made.

If a mistake was made during installation it usually will not leak for about 3–5 years, then suddenly the issues will start. It might be a misplaced nail or some damage from wind. It is rarely the materials — they can last 50 years.

I will not say anything bad about another roofer. Not everyone has the same training and they only know what their boss taught them. Most roofers did their best. I am repairing their work with honor. Let me help you — there is probably no need to replace the roof.

I respect any and every man on the roof. I am here to protect their efforts. No roof deserves an early death — not after the effort that has been put into it.

What I work on

I am not going to teach you how to fix the roof — that is my secret. But I will guarantee my work for a good period of time, usually 2 years. If it does not leak again for two years it probably will not leak again.

Forensic roof repair

I do not know anyone that works on the roof that wants to do a bad job, but I do know that people are often not trained and they gather bad habits. The roof that gets done in a day usually has zero quality control, and that is when you find the most problems. The industry has shifted to subcontractors and that also leads to poor quality.

I focus on seeking oxidation, improper installation, or missed application of material. On both commercial and residential buildings, leaks can be so much more than just the roof — could be siding, masonry, windows, gutters. Fortunately I have the experience to resolve the issue.

What I do

  • Roof leaks — find them and repair them
  • Flashing, chimney and skylight leaks
  • Flat roof repair on small commercial buildings
  • Gutter cleaning

1978

First roof · Still at it

I started in the roofing trade in 1978 in Crystal Lake, Illinois. I was taught by a type of person you don’t see around here. They were Norwegians and very proud of their work ethic. I was lucky to learn from them, and have worked the same way ever since.

I have worked every part of the roofing industry since, from homes to missile sites and everything in between. Some of the roofs I put on in the eighties are still dry. That is not luck. It is what happens when the men you work with feel like they have purpose and pride. No rushing on the job and nothing but quality. Many schools, like Neptune High School and Monmouth Beach School, NJ Turnpike facilities, and about 3,000 more buildings.

I stand behind work I did forty years ago. I am slowing down now, mostly doing repairs and running a non-profit for teaching AMERICANS how to roof for the long term. That is a harder thing to say than it sounds, but I will keep doing it. I like being a roofer and I am just a roofer.

What people say

If I have worked on your roof — last month or thirty years ago — write it here yourself. It goes straight onto the page. Good or bad, I put them all up.

The name is for sale

RealRoofers.com

RealRoofers.com is valuable and I might sell it.

To a supplier or a manufacturer — but you can always find me at either MarkNejmeh.com or my telephone number, 732-995-3914.

I have held this name for years and worked under it. It is not a name I made up in a hurry — it is part of my creativity, and not adopted by enough roofers. I feel a real roofer is something different. You will have to read my upcoming book called REAL ROOFER to find out. Two plain words that cannot be defined by most people, but some can.

Branding has great value when it is scaled, and RealRoofers can be scaled. I will have to see what a buyer does with it, but it is not going cheap.

What I would most like is for a supplier or a manufacturer to take it. Somebody with a national reach who can put the name in front of the whole trade instead of one county in New Jersey. It deserves that.

If you want it, tell me what you would do with it. That part matters to me, and serious offers get a serious answer.

Sold through Escrow.com, buyer and seller protected, no exceptions.
What transfers is the domain. Not the repair business, and not my phone number. RealRoofer.com is a separate name and a separate sale.
However this name ends up, my customers can always find me at MarkNejmeh.com — current phone number and address, permanently.

Ocean and Monmouth County, New Jersey. If it is raining right now, put a bucket under it and take a picture of where the water is coming in — that picture is genuinely useful to me.

And to be clear about the two things on this page: the name is for sale, the work is not. Whoever ends up owning RealRoofers.com, I am still the one who shows up when your ceiling is dripping — and you will always find my current number at MarkNejmeh.com.
